Biography
Da Aie Park was born in Korea and graduated from Seoul National University's College of Fine Arts. She moved to the United States in 1978 and now lives in Los Angeles. Park is a studio artist at Angels Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, California.
Her minimalist paintings are concerned with the nature of paint, poured and brushed; they show materials’ reaction to the ground surface to which they are applied. Created in multi-various glazes of pure colour, the artist responds to the brilliance of carfully selected hues and the gradual process of applying layers of pigment.
To date, Park has participated in eleven solo exhibitions and numerous group shows in the United States, Korea, Japan, Germany, Italy, and Thailand.
